Certificates I/III in Christian Studies – 151/152

These flexible courses are designed to strengthen Christians in their relationship with God and understanding of their faith. The awards can be completed in one semester and count for 50% of the Certificate II/IV in Christian Studies respectively.

Duration

The courses can be completed in six months fulltime, or the part-time equivalent.

Total credit points required: 10 Cert I; 20 Cert III.

Cert. I modules carry half the credit point value of Cert III modules.

Certificates II/IV in Christian Studies – 101/102

These courses are designed to help Christians grow in their knowledge of God, understanding of their faith and ability to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The courses include a broad range of encouraging and inspiring biblically based studies relevant for personal, church and community life. Students learn to apply biblical principles to daily life, explain Christian truths and share the gospel with others.

The Certificate II course does not require a lot of assignment work, and as such, it is suitable for people with limited time, academic expertise or English language skills, who want to become more established in their faith. Certificate IV modules are studied at greater depth and more written work is required.

Those who satisfactorily complete the Certificate IV obtain credit for one year of the two diplomas in Christian Studies.

The courses can be completed in one year, or the part-time equivalent.

Total credit points required: 20 - Cert II; 40 - Cert IV.

Diploma in Christian Studies - 103

This very flexible course is ideal for Christians seeking to develop a broad foundation of biblical understanding and training for specific ministries, e.g. children’s, youth, drama, or selected denominational ministries.

Students will learn to study the Bible using accepted hermeneutical principles, apply biblical principles to daily life and ministry, explain Christian truths, share the gospel with others in various settings, speak in public and engage in chosen areas of Christian service/ministry.

Duration

The course can be completed in two years or the part-time equivalent. Total credit points required: 80.

Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies - 156

Christian faith and its application to daily life. It forms 50% of the Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies and may be extended to fulfill the requirements of that course.

Like the Graduate Diploma, it is not intended for people training for the ministry, but rather for graduates of bachelor courses that did not include a significant theological component, who want to extend their knowledge and understanding of the Bible,

Christian doctrines, and principles of Christian living.

The course will enable graduates to live the Christian life more confidently, apply biblical principles in personal and professional situations, and explain their Christian beliefs and practices clearly, in depth and with confidence.

Duration

The course can be completed in six months, or the part-time equivalent.

Total credit points required: 24.

Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies – 106

This is a course designed for Christian graduates who desire to develop a deeper understanding of the Christian faith and its application to daily life. It is not a suitable course for those training for the ministry, but is intended for graduates of courses which did not include a significant theological component and who seek to extend their knowledge and understanding of the Bible, Christian doctrines, and principles of

Christian living. The course will enable graduates to live the Christian life more confidently, apply biblical principles in personal and professional situations; and explain their Christian beliefs and practices clearly, in depth and with confidence.

Duration

The course can be completed in one year, or the part-time equivalent.

Total credit points required: 48 credit points.
